Registering, transferring, privacy, DNS and renewals — the short version.

Registering

Usually within seconds of payment. You'll see it under My domains as soon as the registry confirms it, and we email you when it's done.

Yes. Switch the currency to INR in the top bar and every price shows in rupees. Rupee payments go through Razorpay, so you can pay by UPI, card, netbanking or wallet. Dollar prices are paid by card.

Prices are shown before GST. If your billing address is in India, GST is added at checkout (CGST + SGST within our state, IGST elsewhere) and shown on your receipt. Add your GSTIN in the cart for a business receipt. Customers outside India pay no GST.

Some names are priced by the registry or their current owner above the standard rate because they're short, dictionary words or otherwise in demand. We always label premium names and show the full price before you add them to your cart.

Some extensions run a first-year promotional price set by the registry. We show the renewal price next to every result so you know what the second year costs before you buy.

NX Domains is a reseller of Dynadot, an ICANN-accredited registrar. Your domain is registered in your name with your contact details, and you keep full control of it.

Transfers

Three things:

  • Unlocked: Remove the transfer lock at your current registrar.
  • Auth code: Ask your current registrar for the EPP / authorization code.
  • Older than 60 days: Registries block transfers in the first 60 days after registration or a previous transfer.

Most transfers complete in five to seven days. Your current registrar may email you to approve it, which can make it faster.

No. Your nameservers and DNS stay exactly as they are while the transfer runs.

Yes, any time after the 60-day registry lock. Open the domain in your account and choose Get auth code; we'll unlock it and show the code.

Managing

WHOIS is the public directory of domain owners. With privacy on, your name, address, email and phone are replaced with proxy details, so you get less spam and more privacy. A few registries (some country-code extensions) don't allow it.

Yes. Open the domain and set any nameservers you like, for example Cloudflare's. Or keep ours and edit DNS records in the dashboard.

Turn on auto-renew and you won't have to remember. Without it, most extensions give a grace period after expiry where you can still renew at the normal price; after that, a registry restore fee may apply.
